Expedited Hiring Authority - Engineering Series (800)
All Engineering positions require at a minimum a bachelor’s degree related to this occupation from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees. The criteria for a highly qualified Engineer may be meeting one or more of the following criteria relative to the position being filled.

  • Types of Professional Engineering Specialist Experience as related to the specific series (i.e.,854 -Computer / Software, 896 – Industrial & Manufacturing, 850 – Electrical / Electronics,801 – Weapons, Space & Support Hardware Systems, 861 – Aerospace)
  • Project manager/Program manager experience
  • Contract performance / delivery experience
  • Experience monitoring quality assurance principles / processes
  • Negotiation experience
  • Master’s or higher degree in applied engineering or other relevant engineering disciplines
  • Certification through professional organizations such as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers
